3 Simple tips to instantly reduce puffy eyes
Today I’m talking about something that happens to us all, puffy eyes. Sometimes they appear briefly after a long night and other times they become somewhat of a permanent feature.
But don't worry, I'm going to explain what causes puffy eyes and how to treat them. You’ll be looking and feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in no time at all!
So, what Causes puffy eyes?
There are a few different causes however, skin ageing has the biggest influence.
Your eyes are home to the thinnest skin on the body and therefore the tissue in your eyelids ages at a faster rate. As a result, the fat in your upper eyelids begins to fall and rest in your lower eyelid causing a puffy appearance.
Other causes include lifestyle choices. Lack of sleep, poor diet and dehydration will all accentuate the problem, so make sure you’re making healthy decisions and taking care of yourself from the inside out.
Once you’ve mastered that, here are my top 3 tips to rejuvenate your eyes.
#1. Sleep with your head slightly raised
It may help to add an extra pillow or elevate your entire head off the bed a few inches. This helps prevent fluid from accumulating around your eyes as you sleep. Something so simple, yet super effective.
#2. Choose an eye serum, not a cream.
If you’re prone to puffiness around the eyes, using a heavy eye cream can actually make the problem worse. This is because the rich consistency congests this delicate area as it can only absorb so much. Any product that's left on top of the skin can then seep into the eyes and cause puffiness as well as create extra weight for this fragile skin. Instead you want to use an eye serum.
Our Eye Complex is specifically formulated as a lightweight, fast absorbing serum and also contains the skin tightening agent, Sesaflash. These functions work in unison to combat puffiness with ease and should be used twice daily for best results.
#3. Use a cold compress
If you wake up with puffy eyes, get yourself a cool, dampened face cloth or a couple of cold teaspoons. While sitting up, apply the damp face cloth or spoons to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes using light pressure. The cooling effect with help to visibly reduce puffiness.
You could also consider keeping your Eye Complex in the fridge so it’ll have the same cooling effect upon application.
Let me know how you get on trying these tips and tricks in your daily routine as you bid the puffiness farewell!
