My Non-BASE Beauty Favourites

I don’t know about you, but September always feels like a fresh start to me…I think it must be all those back-to-school memories!! So, I hope you’ve had a wonderful, rejuvenating start to the new month and season. 

Today, I’m sharing all my non-BASE beauty favourites. We all know I’m obsessed with my Proactive Age Kit; however, I very rarely share the other products that make ‘holy grail’ status in my routine. Despite my chosen career path, I have become somewhat of a minimalist in this department. So, the products I keep on hand truly pack a punch and deliver time and time again.

Let’s have a nosey in my makeup bag…

#1. UKLash EyeLash Serum

Questions about my lashes often pop up in my DMs and whilst I’d love to tell you they’re all natural, that would be a lie! Typically, Will, my brother and my nephew have the most insanely long, thick and perfect lashes you ever did see, and they don’t know how blessed they are!

Unfortunately, I was not so lucky in this department, but the UKLash serum has allowed me to cheat my way to lash goals. All you do is apply it to your lash line once a day and it helps them to grow thicker, stronger, and healthier within 12 weeks. And it genuinely works!

You can trust me when I say I’ve tried almost every reputable brand in this field and this one works just as well as (if not better!) than the brand that charges over £100 for 3ml of product…This lash serum is a total game-changer and saves me applying 8 coats of mascara every morning!

#2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

I have used this concealer since the week it launched and even when I’ve very briefly veered of path to try something new…I always come back to this one and there’s always a backup in my drawer.

This NARS wonder product, in my opinion, is the perfect allrounder. You can use it under your eyes, over blemishes and on any areas you feel need a tad extra coverage. Most mornings I just pop a touch either side of my nose, a tab on both cheeks and a quick splodge on my chin. Blend it all in and hey presto, I’m good to go. The shade range is also fully inclusive, so it’ll work for every skin tone.

This product, alongside my skincare routine, allows me to skip a full foundation which I believe helps to keep my skin clear and blemish free. I just add a touch of coverage where my skin is naturally a little pink and let the rest glow.

#3. Glossier Lip Gloss (in shade Clear)

This is the latest edition to my ‘GOAT' (Greatest of all time) collection, but it’s oh so good! There’s a personal stylist I follow on Instagram whose lips look sensational every time she uploads a story 😍 So I reached out to ask her what she was using and I’ve been a convert ever since.

This lip gloss really is best described as ‘your lips but better’. It’s 100% clear so just enhances their natural colour by making them appear slightly more plump and endlessly glossy. It’s not sticky in the slightest and I now keep one in the drawer, one in my bag and one in the car for good measure!

It’s a great time to jump on the bandwagon as apparently lip gloss is very much back in…although I never even realised it went out?!!

#4. Dove Gradual Tanning Lotion (in shade Fair to Medium)

For those of you who have been with me for a while, you’ll know that I have a love/hate relationship with fake tan. I love the way it can make you feel like a bronzed goddess but hate the way it can dehydrate your skin leaving it scaly and patchy.

Fortunately, this is one product that delivers all the glow with none of the side effects. As the Dove Gradual Tanner is formulated as a body cream, it both nourishes and bronzes for perfect results.

I don’t use it weekly, but whenever I have a special occasion coming up, I add this product in post-shower, and it never lets me down. Fool proof bronzing at its best and it doesn’t come off on the sheets either! Winner, winner for a fake tan beginner.
